Goodbye Hans Bethe
Cornell University announces death of Hans Bethe;
Nobel laureate Hans Bethe, titan of physics and conscience of science, emeritus professor of physics at Cornell University, died yesterday at his home in Ithaca, N.Y
Bethe was among the last of the major Manhattan Project participants to still be with us. Latter in life he became an active critic of the military. He and Richard Feynman developed much of modern quantum electrodynamics.
