Congratulations to Professor Jay D. Atlas

Pomona College has been holding a two day "JayFest" on the occasion of Jay David Atlas' 60th birthday. While I have been unable to attend the formal sessions yesterday or today, Shirley and I do plan to attend this evening's reception.

Jay is the Peter W. Stanley Professor of Linguistics and Philosophy at Pomona College and an important person in the life of our family. He enjoys an international reputation for his work. He has been at Pomona College since 1972. Along with numerous papers Jay is the author of two books; Logic, Meaning, and Conversation: Semantical Underdeterminacy, Implicature, And Their Interface (Oxford University Press, 2004) and Philosophy Without Ambiguity (Clarendon Press, 1989).

Congratulation to Jay. Thank you for your continued support of our now adult children and for your friendship. We await the next 60 years with anticipation.
