Stop the Free Publicity for Creationists
Yesterday I wrote about an article in The Christian Science Monitor that told of new tactics used by creationists to disrupt biology education. I failed to mention that that article had a sidebar that was came straight from the Discovery Institute. This sidebar actually ruined an otherwise useful article by passing on propaganda. Now CBS News has taken up the same article with the same sidebar. PZ Myers of Pharyngula has correctly suggested that we all do two things to try to stop want he calls "lazy reporting."
First, tell CBS (and the Christian Science Monitor) that they should stop passing along this propaganda. I have done it and you can too. You can find the feedback page of the Christian Science Monitor here and the CBS feedback page here.
Second, all pro-science bloggers should link to the resources that I listed in my previous post. The hope is that if these resources are sufficiently ubiquitous someone in the press will use them or perhaps call a biologist before they repeat propaganda. I list them again.
