Our 41st

On this day in 1964, between final exams and graduation, I married Shirley Pletcher in the Methodist Church that I attended and for which she worked. That was 41 years ago.

We continue to have a great life together. She has had to put up with a lot from me: chronic vocational uncertainty, being gone on important occasions and a list of neuroses long enough to illustrate any psychology book. But we are still together and I am very happy that we are. It is difficult to tell where my life ends and hers begins. I would marry her again in a minute and without a second thought.

Thank you Shirley, I look forward to the next 41 years.
