President Bush Provides a Test for the Truth

It's true if it isn't "political talk."

While encouraging seniors to sign up for the new Medicare Prescription Drug program, President Bush characterized his remarks as follows

"This isn't political talk, this is true," (Bush) said. "And I encourage people to take a look at this program. [Washington Post]"

It was very helpful of him to tell us that he was speaking the truth and to let us know when he isn't. As Joe in DC on Americablog said,

This confirms that everything else Bush says is political talk and isn't true. So, unless he gives this caveat: "This isn't political talk, this is true," he's probably lying.

And if he is not plain lying, he is at least dissembling.
