The Evil Westboro Baptist Church's Take on the London Bombings
Just when I thought I had finally gotten to the bottom of the nut jar, there was still one very big nut. God Hates Fags, the official website hatesite for the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas' attacks on gays, has one of the craziest, most offensive, and purely evil posts I have ever seen. The headline screams,
Thank God for the bombing of London's subway today - July 7, 2005 - wherein dozens were killed and hundreds seriously injured. Wish it was many more.
Why is God to be thanked for this unmitigated obscenity?
Tony Blair and his Bitch Barrister WifeThese two have let [sic] England to irreversible doom, pushing the fag agenda. It is now a crime to preach God's truth about fags in England. Blair wants to be president (Antichrist) of EU (European Union), whose laws also criminalize Gospel preaching.
The post is festooned with offensive anti-gay cartoons and biblical quotes. If you visit the site, try to remember that this is not a joke. These are the same shameless folks who thought it was just fine, even good, to protest at a funeral for a fallen soldier in Massachusetts because they didn't like Massachusetts' laws regarding gays.
The Rev. Fred Phelps and his flock are among the extreme of those I called "pathological religious fanatics." But they are far from the only pathological religious fanatics in the U.S. Be afraid! Be very afraid!
