Crucified Sister Irina Cornici's Body Exhumed

Sometime ago I wrote about a Romanian Nun who died while tied to a cross with her mouth gagged during an exorcism. According to the BBC , authorities have exhumed Irina Cornici's body for further study,

A first autopsy concluded the nun died due to dehydration, exhaustion and lack of oxygen, state news agency Rompres reported at the time.

The agency quoted defence lawyer Maria Ilisei as saying that they hoped a second autopsy would uncover "the real causes of the death".

"It will be a complex affair to provide all the answers that remained unanswered from the first examination."

The priest and the four nuns who killed what may well have been a schizophrenic nun are out on bail but face murder charges.

The BBC piece gives some details that were not available in June.

The Orthodox Church condemned the incident as "abominable", banned Father Daniel from the priesthood and excluded the four nuns from the church.

But it took them a while to do it.

I wondered why I was getting so many hits on this today.
