The 10,000th Abnormal Hit
At 6:42:15 am PDT this morning the site meter recorded the 10,000th hit at Abnormal Interests. More important, the regular reader ship is growing. People visit Abnormal Interests on a fairly regular basis from Rio de Janeiro to Moscow to Haifa from Toronto to Copenhagen to Cincinnati. The most popular post remains "The Crucifixion of Sister Maricica Irina Cornici."
Among the highlights of the last few weeks has been the exchange with William Dembski on a New York Times article I panned. PZ Myers at Pharyngula gave Abnormal Interests kudos for the review of that article. This exchange drove site volume for several days. Abnormal Interests biggest single day, 237 hits, came during this period.
Again, I want to thank all my readers for their visits and commend them for the patience in putting up with my rambles.
On another subject, yesterday I attended "Eating Liberally" organized by Kevin Drum that Political Animal of the Washington Monthly. My guess is that there were about 35 people in attendance (another estimate has the attendance at about 25) at the Farmers Market ranging from mega-bloggers like Arianna Huffington to those more on my scale like David Cassel of Density-land It's..... The angriest blog on earth. It was good to meet all these folks. David, with whom I had a very good conversation, has a list of some of the attendees and a picture of his thumb with Arianna in the background.

Congratulations! The power of a link from PZ is an amazing thing (I still get hits from one of the posts he linked to)!
