Off to the Gezer Reunion
Blogging will be a little light for the next several days. Before the sun rises tomorrow, I will be on my way to Philadelphia and the American Schools of Oriental Research meeting. While some of the papers and sessions may be interesting, I am going primarily for the reunion of the diverse participants in the Gezer excavation. I also hope to learn more about the Tell es-Safi potshard. I will be staying at the Philadelphia Penn's Landing Hyatt. If any Abnormal readers are in the area during the ASOR meetings, give me a call at the hotel (215 928-1234). It would be great to meet you.
After the ASOR meeting I will drop by to visit my daughter in Kent, Ohio.
I have a few things that I will be posting from the road. I also hope to post part 4 of my short cuneiform alphabet series and perhaps a little "live" blogging from the ASOR meeting.
While traveling I will be reading Mark Juergensmeyer's Terror in the Mind of God; the Global Rise of Religious Violence. I hope my fellow passengers don't get offended by the title and have me thrown off the plane. Perhaps I should camouflage it inside a pornographic magazine cover.
