Bush Would Have Gone To War Anyway
Here is what the President said today,
When we made the decision to go into Iraq, many intelligence agencies around the world judged that Saddam possessed weapons of mass destruction. This judgment was shared by the intelligence agencies of governments who did not support my decision to remove Saddam. And it is true that much of the intelligence turned out to be wrong. As President, I'm responsible for the decision to go into Iraq -- and I'm also responsible for fixing what went wrong by reforming our intelligence capabilities. And we're doing just that. [White House Press Room]
And now somehow things that happened and came to be known after the war turn out to be justifications for the war!
At the same time, we must remember that an investigation after the war by chief weapons inspector Charles Duelfer found that Saddam was using the U.N. oil-for-food program to influence countries and companies in an effort to undermine sanctions, with the intent of restarting his weapons programs once the sanctions collapsed and the world looked the other way. [emphasis added]
and
"In the war on terror, Iraq is now the central front. [emphasis added]"
Holy time warp Batman, all he has left are post war justifications for a pre-war decision. And the war itself is the cause of one of these justifications!

Duane,
Bush can't reason logically. It's something in his brain, probably too much cocaine and booze in his past. So whoever writes his speech (Rove?) can include any sort of warped logic, Bush will present it like it's a solid argument, when it's circular reasoning at best (and totally absurd at worst...). The scary thing is they think the public will fall for it!
I heard today that the war has cost nearly $500B so far. Can you imagine what could have been achieved with all that money ?! It's so sad that millions of children and men and women die every year from sickness or live in utter misery, and the richest country in the world wastes its money killing more innocent!
Poor old Kanzi can't understand that!
