For a Minute, I Thought He Had Gotten the Message

I was skimming through the text of President Bush's press conference when this struck my eye.

Obviously, people were not happy with the status quo. The people are demanding honest government. The people want services. They want to be able to raise their children in an environment in which they can get a decent education and they can find health care.

Wow, I thought he had finally gotten the message. And then I realized he was talking about the election in Palestine.

The truth is nothing new or even very interesting came out of this news conference. It is seldom that anything does, but I thought the follow-up questions, such as they were, were weak or simply beating a dead horse.
