Hobbit Update
Kate Wong on Scientific American.com has the first of a multi part update on Homo floresiensis. Or is it a dwarf Homo erectus with an extra small brain or, if you prefer, is it one or more microcephalic Homo sapiens? The answer may rest on an analysis of dwarf versions of our relative ape Pongo (orangutan), specifically the subspecies Pongo pygmaeus morio from northeast Barnio.
Interesting stuff: Give Wang's piece a read and look for her follow-on posts.
