Biblical Studies in Proper Context

Phil Harland at Religions of the Ancient Mediterranean has "Biblical Studies Carnival X" up and running. I think this month's carnival is particularly rich in academic content.

I especially like the section headings that Phil chose: "Hebrew Bible and The Ancient Near East," "Second-Temple Judaism and Early Rabbinic Judaism" and "Early Christian Writings and The Greco-Roman World." These subtitles put the various postings in a historical rather than a theological context. And, of course, that's the way I like it.
