Still in Good Company

There's an interesting quiz at Common Good that attempts to discover the participants worldview in terms of science and the progress of mankind. Like all these quizzes, it has its own point of view that is more or less transparent. That I agree with that point of view is a detail. Also, like nearly all quizzes the range of possible answers to each question is limited, so it occasionally forces one to make choices that are less than optimum. The results come on a two dimensional grid with a reference grid showing the positions of various well known figures. Here are my results

Your rating on science vs. non-science: 10
Your rating on progress for humankind: 9
Your position on the worldview spectrum: (9,10)

World View Quiz

My very near neighbors are Carl Sagan and, by the way, PZ Myers. This puts me almost directly opposite of Pat Robertson and Osama bin Laben. I did not get 10 out of 10 on the extermination/progress scale because of one question. Without giving too much away to those who may want to take this quiz, I worry that our species or its descendent species will become extent before our progeny can spread beyond the Earth. But to me this is a serious worry but not a dogmatic necessity.

I was more surprised that Sagan took the quiz!
