The Second Edition of The Four Stone Hearth is Up
The second edition of The Four Stone Hearth is up at afarensis. Thanks! If you're at all interested in anthropology give it a look. Among the most interesting links is to a post by Razib at Gene Expression on introgression of Neanderthal genes into the modern human genome. Carl at Hot Cup of Joe's post on Neanderthals should also be read in this context. Also, there's a link to some series on pottery as well as over a dozen other very interesting posts.
The whole area of introgression of genes into our genome is abnormally interesting. John Hawks has a post and a tutorial on the subject on his blog. Our whole understanding of our relationship with the various other homos that we once shared the earth with is undergoing a fairly rapid reinterpretation.
