Abnormal Intermittent Problems
Regular readers may have noticed periods when Abnormal Interests was abnormally down for periods of time ranging from a few seconds to a half an hour or more. There is some kind of a problem with our abnormal router or our abnormal cables that cause the router to fail and reboot itself for no reason that I can determine. A couple of times I have had to reboot it manually. I hope to have this resolved soon. Further trouble shooting and repair will no doubt cause additional downtime.

I've been having problems with my DSL hook-up. Out of the blue I lose connection sometimes for hours. Most of last nite I didn't have any connection. Then spent 45 minutes talking to support technicians in India. They were very nice & helpful. We ruled out the microwave, the printer, the filter. They told me they were going to contact the phone company & asked me to leave everything on during the nite. This morning I was connected again. I am keeping my fingers crossed now.

I now believe that this is being caused by an attack on my firewall. I am working with the company that owns the IP address to get it stopped.
