Help!
How about one of you bibliobloggers doing a nice little post or comment on Ezekiel 16:47? While the whole verse is of interest, I'd like to know what you make of כִּמְעַט קָט. No fair emending or even deleting קָט until you've taken a good shot at it as is.

Sorry, Duane, I haven't got a clue. Greenberg (AB) cites an Arabic cognate meaning "only." Köhler-Baumgartner (HALOT) cite an Ethiopic cognate meaning "small." Not so sure why you're against emendation, since the verse is textually messy in other respects. I can't make sense of any relation to BH קוט, "to loathe." Sorry.

Not sure if this will help...
But there is a similar usage (In Hebrew) in
4Q385 f6.3 [.--וחבא כמעט ק[ט
It is translated "and hide a little whi[le...]"
