Local Warming
We live in what the weather people call "the valleys." It's been rather warm the last few days here in these valleys east of Los Angeles, 95º or so. But it looks like it is really going to warm up over the next few days.
Several times our local CBS weekend forecaster, Kaj Goldberg, said the temperature for tomorrow would be in the mid 100ºs. Wow, that's hot! I think he really meant that it would be between 100º and 110º; warm enough but that sure wasn't what he said. My kids tell me that I need to work on my understanding of "implicature." Mid 100ºs sure seems hot to me!
