The Land of the Watched and the Home of the Cowards

It was inevitable. The President got most of his way with the revised Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. Political cowards joined those whose political agenda is to roll back the clock on everything, including liberty. If there is any good news in this, it is that the bill expires in six months. I hope that between now and then courage can overcome fear and that congress will focus on the real questions; should there be any secret courts or secret laws in the United States; should the executive branch have any powers without congressional and/or judicial review; should the government monitor any phone calls or emails without prior judicial approval. Perhaps then, we can return to being "the land of the free and the home of the brave." But I'm not holding my breath.

What you guys need is a French Revolution, but you'd have to rename it as a "Freedom Revolution", hehehe.

I've never seen such a hated president manage to *not* get shot, which is not to say that *I* would shoot him (don't want the FBI at my door, hehe), just that it's well known that a wealth of people would love the opportunity, in and outside of the States, in almost every country, not just Arab countries, but European countries, South American countries and even Americans want a whack at him. I wonder how much his security must cost and maybe that's really where the country's money is going.

Oh well, time to pledge allegiance to another country. Maybe China. I hear Shanghai is booming.
