Should I Feel Sad About This? »

The Written Word
I dropped by the library of the Claremont School of Theology Library this morning. Their collection and that of the Honnold/Mudd Library of the Claremont Colleges serve several of my abnormal interests. During my visit this morning I needed to take a short potty break and was surprised at what I found in the library's men's room.
This sign was over the toilet.

And this one was on the inside of the stall door.

And just in case the seminarians, faculty or visitors missed the point, this sign was on the door as one exited the restroom.

Hummmm. Do the patrons of theological libraries need to have everything in writing? At least they were polite. I do appreciate that. There's nothing like this at the Honnold/Mudd Library. I guess their patrons do not need instructions in the ways of this world.

The sad thing is, is that someone must have done something really gross to warrant so many signs. I'm so proud of my fellow students!

Maybe they need a sign that reads: Thou shall flush the toilet!

Those signs have been there for at least a few years. I suppose you could look at it 2 ways: Either the problem is ongoing (which is a sad statement for students & researchers who use the library--it's not like a public library where you expect to find bums wandering in off the street), or the problem doesn't exist because the signs work.
