There's More to San Diego Than Biblical Literature and Zoos

Those of you who will be attending the Society of Biblical Literature meeting in San Diego starting this coming Saturday are well aware of the occasions to renew friendships, the endless papers, the opportunities to learn, the endless papers, the Dead Sea Scrolls Exhibit, the endless papers, the wonderful get-togethers and the endless papers. You are also well aware of the world class Zoo and its Wild Animal Park.

But I'll bet many of you didn't know that an extremely important event overlaps our mundane affair. The San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival starts tomorrow and extends through November 18. I may change my plans and get down to San Diego a little early. Perhaps the Wine & Food Festival will help me prepare for the endless papers.

Now I have another reason to regret not getting to SBL this year! We will have to see what festivals fit alongside the SBL International in July to encourage you all to come here ;-)
