Darwin Day
Today would have been Charles Darwin's one-hundred and ninety-ninth birthday. I'm a little leery about celebrating such a day. I worry that it reinforces the mistaken idea of a Darwin cult rather than celebrates an on going scientific enterprise that grows every day. But it is the great man's birthday, so I guess it is OK to say, "Happy one-hundred and ninety-ninth."

I agree with your concerns & ignore Darwin's birthday for that reason. I believe it's more meaningful to celebrate July 1st.
