Global Warming for the Drinking Classes

If this The Sun article doesn't raise consciousness, I don't know what will.

CLIMATE change could send the price of beer rocketing because it might hamper the production of a key grain needed for the brew, a scientist has warned.

Jim Salinger, a climate scientist at New Zealand’s National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research, said environmental changes will probably cause a decline in the production of malting barley in parts of New Zealand and Australia.

Mr Salinger told the Institute of Brewing and Distilling convention: “It will mean either there will be pubs without beer or the cost of beer will go up.”

Talk about hitting the average person where they live.
