Not In My Family, Not This Time
For a while, Shirley thought this individual was one of my relatives.
Hans Jacob Holtzapfel, born about 1662 in Franfurt am Main, Hessen, Germany; died June 17, 1684 in Michelfeld near Sinnsheim, Germany. Executed: beheaded and burnt at the stake for sodomy with a horse. [Hawk, E. L., Hawk Family, 2000, page 14]
It turns out that he is not my relative and neither is the horse. But I'm still a little upset that she thought Herr Holtzapfel might be.

I think Hans Jakob Holtzapfel IS one of my ancestors, and I think it's hilarious. Strangely, the rest of my family does not share my glee.
