NT Wrong on a Myth of Archaeology and The Bible.

Get over to NT Wrong's blog and read his two posts on "The Myth: ‘Archaeology cannot prove/disprove the Bible’".

My usual quibbles about "proof" apply, but NT addressed them in an earlier post. While I don't think avoiding the word "proof" is as "misguided" as NT does, the way he deals with it in this early post is more than okay. I do wish he had introduced probability in that post on "Proof and Evidence." If the probability is high enough, a tentative conclusion cannot be distinguished from a fact and if the probability is low enough, a tentative conclusion cannot be distinguished from a falsehood. If you want to call one proof and the other disproof its okay with me. But that pudding sure looks good. I think there is a very high probability that it is but I'd need to taste it to be sure. Don't know what pudding has to do with the subject? Check out his post.

'The proof is in the pudding.'

Heck, I thought it was completely clear.

Ah - to you, but others have been mystified by the presence of a dessert. It's their just deserts, though.
