For the Next Four Days, Please Don't Find Anything
Sometime on Saturday, November 1, I will post Biblical Studies Carnival XXXV here at Abnormal Interests. Up until about 10:00 PM PDT I will welcome suggestions for posts that I should include in the carnival. The sooner the better. If you don't know how to tell me about them, take the link and find out.
But PLEASE, PLEASE, please, don't anyone find Noah's Ark or an 11th century BCE inscription in paleao-Hebrew or an Ugaritic tablet with Abraham's name on it. Please don't find, a new Dead Sea Scroll fragment with "Jesus of Nazareth" partially visible through the lacunae. I don't want to hear about a major cache of tablets from Hazor or Megiddo or an Iron I Age palace discovered at the City of David excavations or even an unpublished manuscript of von Rad. And the same goes for an unpublished manuscript of Bultmann unless it clearly says that god is a myth that also needs to be demythologized. And please don't post any abnormally interesting reflections on the Bible either. This carnival will be enough work without some last minute thing coming along about which every biblioblogger in the world will feel a need to comment.
After about 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 1, any such discovery with the exception of Noah's Ark will be welcome.
PS And for goodness sake, please, don't find King Solomon's mines! Oh no, its too late!

Duane,
How about an inscription that says: "Abraham slept here?"

Claude,
Yeah, that is the kind of thing that would drive me crazy.

That paper is part of background story on the Solomon's mines discussions.
