Election Paralysis

No, I haven't dropped off the face of the Earth. However, I can't blog anything right now. I'm over at pollster, transfixed by tiny little movements in proportions not significantly different from 0.5. It's like popping bubble wrap; I can't stop myself. If y'all don't hear from me by Thursday, I'll probably need some help getting out.

These are the words of the anonymous and wonderful blogger Angry Professor at A Gentlemen's C. And they reflect my own temporary election paralysis.

Tomorrow, on issues large and small, we here in the US have an opportunity to make the Change We Need.

I sincerely hope that we can to it without fear or influence of the ghosts of our past. However our parents raised us, it is time act in terms of our highest aspirations and not our lowest fears.

It is common to say that one looks forward to the seeming endless political campaigns ending. And should things go right tomorrow I will no doubt be relieved. But if they don't, I hate the thought of what may befall our nation and, because of our disproportionate power, our world. Does that mean that I am sure the world will be better off if one set of candidates and propositions wins and another does not? No, I am not sure. It does mean that I think the probabilities are far better one way than the other. In the meantime, I'm off to Pollster.
