One David Moulton famously asked, "Why is American beer served cold?" and then answered, "So you can tell it from urine."
Did the ancient Mesopotamians have a similar problem?
Sumerogram KÁŠ = beer
Sumerogram KÀŠ = urine
Yes, they are very different signs but . . .

That's funny. I wonder if there are any texts that play on the confusion. My wife affectionately refers to English IPA as 'piss in a bottle'.

I didn't look vary hard for a text with a play on this but it wouldn't surprise me too much if there were one.
