A Sign Of The Times
I don't often post on my professional life, past or present. It really isn't one of my abnormal interests and, for all practical matters, I'm completely retired at this point. But I received an update email from a professional networking site to which I belong. Much like a social networking site you "friend," (in this case "colleague") various people with whom you want to keep in touch. The email contained the following two items in exactly this order. I've changed the names and disabled the links to protect the innocent.

At any other time these two colleagues, indeed these two close friends, would be creating jobs rather than looking for them. Both will find great jobs. Both are among the best engineers and managers with whom I've had the pleasure of working. But I thought it ironic that these two updates came in the same email one right after the other. The only other item was that another friend did get a new job. I was glad to hear it.
By the way, if you, dear reader, are looking for people with the talents of these two individuals, let me know. I will give you their real names and contact information.
