Are All Things Really Better In Koine?
Jim Davila provides an amusing video that claims "All things are better in Koine." But as I watched this video and listened to the song on which it is based, I couldn't help remembering these words of Nietzsche,
It was subtle of God to learn Greek when he wished to become an author – and not to learn it better [Beyond Good and Evil, aphorism 121]
In case you don't know, Friedrich Nietzsche was an accomplished classical philologist who, I am told, dabbled in philosophy.
No, this is not really a repeat post. The context is very different.
