On The Wrong Mailing List Again

I just received the following email under the subject "Duane - We offer Church Loans for Refinance, Purchase, Renovations, Construction and Operating Costs." To protect the guilty, I've made a couple of modifications.

Duane Smith:

Please take a moment to contact us if your Church is in need of financing for any purpose.

We operate Nationwide and are available from 9am to 9pm EST.

Please contact Mr. Sales Guy at 1-800-XYZ-ABCD ext. 2 or email sales@someloancompany.com.

We look forward to hearing from you,

Big Shot
1-800-XYZ-ABCD ext. 101
Operations Manager

Any suggestions on how I might improve my church? They sure seem to want to make me a loan.

Duane,

Congratulations! I received the same email. It seems that you and I will build a church together.

Claude,

I look forward to the collaboration. But what shall we call it and what shall its basic doctrines be? I foresee the possibility of an early schism. Perhaps we should apply for twice as much as we actually need to cover that contingency.

You definitely need gold-plated toilet flushes and marble urinals; anything less just wouldn't do.

Charles

I do hope that I can raise enough money to have the few necessities that you suggest and still have enough left for a special bejeweled hat and robe. It wouldn't be right to sit on a golden (did you say gold plated?) throne in without the proper vestments. And how could one stand before waters flowing over natural stone without attire appropriate to the occasion?

Dear Duane and Claude,
Since you are now in the church business and need help spending that big loan, I would like to suggest spending it on stained glass. lol -- that is too funny. I hope you have a good day!
