Not Philosophers' Mythological Science

Brian Leiter asked his readers to suggest the best philosophy books and articles of the past decade. Not too surprisingly, I hadn't heard of many of the suggestions but I had heard of Mark Wilson's Wandering Significance: An Essay on Conceptual Behaviour (Oxford University Press, 2006).

I have met Mark Wilson a couple of times and his book is on my reading list but I haven't gotten to it as yet. However, Alan Nelson, the person who suggested Wandering Significance, echoes what others have told me about the book, "A strikingly original treatment of semantic and metaphysical topics illuminated by real science in its messy glory and not by philosophers' mythological science."

Nuts! I guess I need to move Wandering Significance to a higher priority so I have a chance of getting to it before the coming decade ends.
