Two New Books On Abnormal Interests
Over the last couple of weeks, I've written speculative posts on two topics that I now see have whole books devoted to them. My ignorance of these volumes illustrates one of the problems with posting what often amounts to little more than free associations.
On the question of anthropomorphic and non-anthropomorphic aspects of deity in Ancient Mesopotamia, I see that the cleverly titled What Is a God? Anthropomorphic and Non-Anthropomorphic Aspects of Deity in Ancient Mesopotamia edited by Barbara Nevling Porter is now available. I need to get hold of this one ASAP.
On the subject of the Hebrew construct infinitive followed by a cognate finite verb, I guess I need to look at Yoo-Ki Kim's The Function of the Tautological Infinitive in Classical Biblical Hebrew. This one can wait but I do want to know what Kim has to say.
