Holy Jupiter, I’m Related To Zeus

Dagobert I, King of the Franks

Shirley has established that Dagobert I, King of the Franks, is my 54th great grandfather. Now I doubt that this alone is any particular honor but old Dagobert had ancestors too. Relying on the best available sources, Stirnet Limited demonstrates that Dagobert I is a descendant of Dardanus, son of Zeus by way of his, ah, err, conquest of Electra.

I have no doubt that this is true. I often think of myself as one of the Olympian gods. But Shirley’s negative evaluation of the evidence bothers me. She has been more than willing to believe that the vilest disgusting retrogrades imaginable are my direct ancestors. But when it comes to Zeus, she seems completely unwilling to admit the smallest possibility that the king of the Olympian gods may be my greatest of grandfathers. Even the way in which Zeus fathered Dardanus, which would normally amount to proof of a family relationship, does not convince her.

Ooops, I guess I should have said "54th" and have fixed that. But, it you’re questioning my relationship to Dagobert I, the documentation for that is reasonably good.

I would love to see the full geneology back to Dago

How handy are you with lightning bolts?

Aydin and Glen,

When I was in high school a friend of mine and I made a Tesla coil. We could sure make sparks fly with that. But over the years my smiting and bolting skills have atrophied.

David,

Shirley will try to make a GEDCOM file of manageable size for your amazement. I’m not sure how long it will take but if and when she gets it done, I’ll email it to you.

Yup, I can see the resemblance.
