Der Thesaurus Linguae Aegyptiae Online
Der Thesaurus Linguae Aegyptiae is online. Der Thesaurus Linguae Aegyptiae is based on Adolf Erman’s venerable (1906-1909) Wörterbuch der Ägyptischen Sprache and its several revisions. Page images of the 1906-1909 version are available for browsing in their entirety. Free registration is required. Wörterbuch der Ägyptischen Sprache is from the pre-Egyptian hieroglyphic font days, when Egyptologists literally wrote and drew their own books.
The search tools seem to work well as long as you remember to search in either Egyptian or German. Because the search prompts are in English, I kept trying to enter English words for the reverse dictionary functions before I remembered that everything in this dictionary that isn’t in Egyptian is in German. The same is true for most of the Der Thesaurus Linguae Aegyptiae website. Check it out.
