Seth Sanders On Scribes and Craftsmen
Over at Service the Word, Seth Sanders has an interesting set of seven "modest proposals" concerning “Scribes and Craftsmen, Inscriptions and Audiences in the Iron Age Levant.” He’s even threatens us with more in the future. So far, all of them seem about right to me. Several of them, particularly number 2, mirror some thoughts I’ve been trying to pull together about scribal and professional activity at Ugarit. Someday what I’ve been working on may result in a formal publication. In the mean time, check out Seth’s post and if you really have abnormal interests, check out this old post of mine.
