Are They Trying To Tell Me Something?

On the one hand, I just received an email notification for the 14th Applied Stochastic Models and Data Analysis International Conference this June in Rome. While I am interested in the topic, I rather doubt that my limited ability to understand any of the papers would justify the conference fee and the cost of the trip to Rome. Why did I get this notice? I have no idea.

On the other hand, I can’t even find the registration form for this March’s Western Commission for the Study of Religion meeting that includes the Pacific Coast Regional meeting of the Society of Biblical Literature – a meeting at which I have twice in recent years presented papers. This meeting is just down the road at Whittier College. I might have even submitted a proposal for this year’s meeting if I’d received the submission of papers notification before the deadline.

But then, there is still time to submit a paper proposal for the Applied Stochastic Models and Data Analysis Conference and Rome in June doesn’t sound all that bad.
