Claude Mariottini on Norman Gottwald

Claude Mariottini has a nice post on Norman Gottwald and his impact on the study of the Hebrew Bible. While less personal than Claude, I too have a warm place in my heart for Gottwald. His book, A Light to the Nations, was the text (other than the Bible) for the first academic course I had on the Hebrew Bible. I took that course from Gerald LaRue as a senior engineering major (!) at USC in 1964. Gottwald and LaRue are among the major reasons for my initial interest in the Hebrew Bible.

Please read Claude’s abnormally interesting post and take the link to Roland Boer’s piece on Gottwald.
