He That Pisseth Against He That Pisseth

Claude Mariottini has posted the first of a multi-part series on my paper “‘Pisser against a Wall’: An Echo of Divination in Biblical Hebrew” (The Catholic Biblical Quarterly 72 (2010): 699-717) and more generally on the Hebrew trope that is topic of my paper. In this first post Claude outlines my paper in order to set the stage for what he says will a discussion of why he believes my interpretation “does not help explain the Hebrew expression “him that pisseth against the wall.” He then promises to offer his own interpretation. I will no doubt have something more to say after Claude's next installment. I will likely comment at Claude’s place but may have some things to say here too.

This looks to be an exciting "pissing match" among scholars, lol.
