Computers, Computers

Depending on how one counts we have five (Is an IPad a computer?) computers here at Abnormal Interests’ worldwide headquarters and retirement center. That means that at any given time one or more of them may have some kind of problem. Generally I’m okay with that. Most of the problems are easy to deal with. But when it is my workstation and when it won’t even boot up or let me run the repair program from a CD I tend to take it personally. My guess is that before the weekend is over I’ll have a new computer. Only Ba’al knows how much software I’ll need to install and how many options I’ll need to configure to get it just the way I want it. The good news is that my data files are not stored on my workstation and where they are stored is backed up every night.
But for now, I’m struggling with my laptop and and Shirley’s workstation, neither of which allows me to to pursue my abnormal interests with the easy that I enjoyed just yesterday.

  1. Duane,
I went through that a few months ago and I know what you are going through with your computer. It is a pain.
If I were you, I would be reluctant to call on Baal for help. Remember 1 Kings 18:16 when the prophets of Baal called unto him: “‘O Baal, answer us!’ But there was no voice, and no one answered.”
If you depend on Baal, you may be stuck without a computer for a long time.
