On Leaving Well Enough Huck Alone

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount is about to produce a film on Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer. The “property” on which the film will be based is called “Huck.” The following provides sufficient reason to avoid this film.

The storyline is being kept under wraps, but the project is described as a re-imagining in the vein of Snow White and the Huntsman, focusing on Sawyer and Finn as adults. There also are supernatural elements to the script.

In fact it provides two or three sufficient reasons to avoid this film. I’m sure Twain would have enjoyed the addition of “supernatural elements” to the lives of his best knows characters. Right?!?
